I just heard about this yesterday. Its an all day, unlimited races karting event with a top 32 $500 cash prize for being #1. $75 tickets if you buy online. 11am-6pm(6-8pm top 32) !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Just outside philly. Im gonna buy my ticket today or tomorrow. How many of you guys want to meet up and race. Lets have a mini Oppo meet!

The way they worded it, yes. from 11am to 6pm, you can race as much as your want. The only variable is how many people show up. But thats 7 hours of racing. Just over 10 bucks and hour. And i say NP.

tournament lasts another 2 hours, so if you make it, you could have 9 hours of racing!

Free pizza too.

And yeah, its pretty central so i hope it brings out some more guys. Its a 2 hour ride for me, so no one should be complaining.

I think I can make this. I tried to get a group get together last year with mimimal response. I can vouch for this place- it's pretty sweet and the equipment is still in decent shape.

Well we had a successful tristate oppo meet in november, so hopefully we can pull those usually suspects out again.

This is my local place! I thiiiiiiiiiink I'm busy Sunday but if not I'll come by. I haven't been in the electric karts recently (just did a 3 hour enduro in gas karts) and I kinda miss them lol

Yeah, but I don't have much interest in racing there. I HATE karts that can be speed limited when you're on track with someone that can't drive for shit. No guarantees that won't happen, so I'm not too thrilled about the idea.

Also, I already can't make up my mind which car to take...

Well, to race those kinds of karts, its gonna cost nearly double the price, and you have to go through probably a more in depth drivers meeting and safety briefing. And usually they are only outside and wont get nearly as long of track time.

If we get all oppo guys on the track then maybe they wont need to limit us! =)

You could just come to watch, they will have the daytona 500 on, so they say...

You'll have a blast. It's a little different from gas karts but no less enjoyable, at least to me. The one awesome thing is that the power is pretty consistent, so the only variation is with chassis/tire condition. There's no way to get a bunk engine or a messed up rev limiter, etc. Plus you won't stink like gas if you spend the whole day there lol.

I'm not sure what the track setup will be, but the "normal" setup is two separate tracks so you should have good variety and the wait time shouldn't be too bad. Depends on attendance, of course.

I'd bring a water bottle that you can refill at the water fountain, your own helmet if you have one and gloves if you use them. And don't get stuffed on greasy pizza, makes you burp like hell on track. I learned that with my car, but I think the same rule applies in karts!

Depending on where you are, a few of us might be meeting at an undecided diner for breakfast before they open at 11. This however, is still in the works.

i looked at their pricing, 80 bucks for 5 races a Leigh valley. 75 bucks at Horsham for 7 hour of potential racing. So if you get in at least 5 you already are gonna do better.

About the karts, whats a decent speed you can reach on the track? And DocWalt seems to be worried they will limit your power if there is a bad driver on track, is this true?

How busy can things get there? And how many races do you think i could get in in 7 hours?

Is there anywhere to places my things? Or is it just like leave it there and hope no one takes it. Haha pizza, i may bring a sandwhich or something then to have some real type of food.

Are they sticklers about bumping/intense racing. Im sure i wont be able to go the whole day without potentially hitting someone....

LVGP has great deals, 12 hours of racing for $100, or $50 for 5:30-10 on Mondays. Otherwise, yeah, it's not cheap.

I'd be up for meeting a diner. I'll try to keep up with this, if some plans come together let me know :)

Ha Ha yeah I was meaning to ask her out a long time, and once she said she likes to ski, I got my opening.. Belleayre mountain in the catskills, it should be a nice drive as well. I will ease in my obsession for cars and everything related a little slowly, know from experience not everybody get that, if you know what I mean. Enjoy yourselves, I'll make it next time.

Side note: when it gets a little warmer, I'll start setting up some cruises to car shows and stuff for peeps around the area, let me know if you are in..

Im in for cruises to car shows and stuff for sure! So long as people dont mind me in the prelude, cause the NJcruisers has a lot of v8 blood o_o and im worried they will mistake me for a ricer.

Ive been following the fb page, but considering all this snow there is nothing to do.

Mines a roadster remember, yeah I got a removable luggage rack that sits on the boot like the ones you see on old triumphs and NA miatas, should be easy to strap 2 boards on I think. There are a few v8s but there are a lot of others as well, I remember we had a rental sentra on a cruise once. I used to roll with them in a clapped out 02 Mercury Cougar not so long ago, and the prelude is pretty quick, if I understand.. you should be alright..

Speed? I don't know, they never gave me a kart with a speedo. Plenty fast to have fun.

There is absolutely no way to know how many races you'll get in. Could be tons if there isn't a huge crowd. Have they done this sort of thing before? Maybe call and ask what they're expecting by way of turnout.

On contact- you don't need to hit people. They flag slower karts to move over so you can pass. The normal races are based on lap times not position so there is no incentive to try to keep someone behind you if they're faster. That said, they know if you bump someone by accident. They won't turn the speed down unless you're intentionally hitting people or you appear to be unsafe at full speed. Some people are absolutely clueless about the concept of a racing line and have to be turned down. They can turn karts down individually. With an event like this I wouldn't expect too many true novices. You should be fine, but again it all comes down to the type of people who show up.

You can keep most of your crap in the car. The parking lot is close by. They have a place next to each track where you can put your things - phone etc. - while you're in a race. Never heard of anyone taking anything from there. It's right next to the dudes organizing the races.

haha, i should have worded that better. I dont plan on hitting anyone. But im sure if i happen to be in an intense situation where even though i know were are not racing for position (per say), there could be a little bump or tap. Tell me its not awesome to race inches from someone turn through turn.

haha, the prelude is not a drag car, but it shines in the turns so i should be able to keep up.
